Regions question

How many regions is on one server LL? In 2007 there were 2 regions and now?

Depends, some seem to have more, some less. You can type in the name of some sim to this web page, and see what other sims are sharing the same server. http://secondlife.mitsi.com/sims/

Edit: i just tried some of my favorite places. Some have 8 and some have 10.

'Full' regions exist as one region per core. This varies depending on the server 'class'. Class 5-7 servers each have four cores (most private full regions are class 7 currently), and thus four regions per server. Class 8 servers each have eight cores, meaning 8 regions per server. The majority of these are mainland regions (from memory, though this will change over time).

Homesteads share, at a rate of 3 regions per core. Instead of the typical 1 region per core. I'm not immedialely sure which server class they run on, but it's safe to assume Class 7's (therefore, 12 homestead regions to a server).

These numbers are typical, and will vary over time.
