To delete your account, go to your dashboard, click the little arrow next to "account" and choose "cancel account" from the expanded menu.

To uninstall everything, go to start-control panel (on a PC; not sure how on a Mac), choose "change/uninstall programs" (or whatever it's called officially), and find the viewer in the list there (probably under "Second Life"). Click "uninstall."

Hello and welcome to SL Forums. Ariel answered you already. On the other side, i don't think that it is a wise desicion to cancel your account. Consider leaving it active with a basic membership, which costs nothing to maintain. If at some point in the future you should choose to revisit Second Life, your avatar and your inventory will be here waiting for you. If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account.
