Refresh View

[Shine Iridescent]

I am in a very busy "fashion fair" sim and almost everything is grey.  I use the phoenix viewer with a pretty decent computer and a slowish internet connection, I seem to remember there was a way to "refresh" your view - I don't know if it was a general feature or a phoenix feature - does anyone know?

Hello Shine and welcome to SL Forums. I am not sure if Phoenix has a specific command about it. What i do is to TP out and back in the region or better to relog there. Usually it helps textures to be loaded the second time. If you have the problem often and also in regions which you have visited again you can clear your cache as it is described here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clearing_the_cache  Read also the paragraph about Multiple viewers, it is very important.

Right click> texture refresh for those stubborn textures that refuse to load, or avatars who remain grey or blurry!

As well as what the others point out, be aware that if this is in a busy sim with lots of objects and scripts, there might be lag on the server side. You might also be experioencing network related lag.

Have a look in Advanced->Performance tools (I think that is what it is called) to show the lag meter. If you see server lag, all you can do is wait. Network lag can be anywhere between your own connection to the transport of data between SL servers. On your end, if you are on a wireless internet connection, try plugging in to see if the situation improves.
