Yes, you lose the house. No, if you come back later, you will not get the same house in exactly the same spot, I don't think. You can get a new house in exactly the same style, but it won't be the same exact house.

Hello Maureen. Yes you will lose your Linden Home.  If you downgrade to a basic account, you will lose all the land you own, and you will no longer have access to your weekly Linden dollar stipend or live chat support. Make sure to sell all your land before you downgrade. If you upgrate to Premium again, you will get other Linden Home.

If you have a free Linden Home, yes you will lose that.  If you have a mainland plot of land with a home on it you won't lose the home but you will lose the land your home sits on.  If you are renting you won't lose either as long as you maintain your rent that is due to the owner of the land you rent.
