Voddir here - my friends list is pitifully small at 3 people, so would be good to have more folks to chat and IM with about anything we feel like. I just want friends, nothing romantic or sexually graphic please.

You can try joining one of the active groups in-world related to something of your interest, where you can chat with people, and eventualy meet somebody interesting "in person". Or, you can just wander around, visiting hang out spots, clubs and events. Just do in SL what you would normally do in RL when you want to be around people.

I do agree! In-world is often a good way to go in that regard. Forums can be a little too asynchronous and constrained to exchange things meaningfully. There's also plenty of groups and locations focussing on Samurai, Bushido and all-sorts of associated subjects.

I'd be happy to chat in-world also.
