Hey,

Does anyone know if Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is able to enable shadows and lighting? I want to take some pictures with shadows using Second Life Viewer 3.0. 

Edit: I don't have an external graphics card. Just what came with my Mac computer.

The Mac itself comes with :

I am able to apply Lighting and Shadows, Atmospheric Shaders, Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field when my Quality and speed is at Ultra. Then I go to the Develop Menu- Rendering and check SSAO and Shadow Smoothing. Though I cant seem to see shadows when I walk, or behind objects. Is this the proper way to ebale Lighting and Shadows?

you might want to edit your answer and add what graphics card you're using some can handle ultra graphics to enable shadows others cannot

I think your Mac has the same graphics card as the old MacBook had. I also think you may be out of luck. As far as I remember, you will not be able to enable lighting and shadows. But have a look in me->Preferences->Graphics and see if it is possible to enable (below the checkbox for atmospheric shaders).

Hello Lynzzy. The answer is no. Even you enable them (by default they will be disabled) you will feel terrible lag.
