Editing Arrow Problem

Hi : )  The selection direction arrows in editing mode are in the sky above me and out of reach with any of my attempts to return them to earth failed . Any solutions ? Regardles of how I move the viewer screen with camera there is no difference so objects go in the ground , air or far away . Editing clothes is not even an option at this time also . ty Lexi

Your camera is your friend.  The arrows and circles are always centered on whatever object you are working on, and you can always center your camera on them by putting your mouse cursor there and Alt-clicking.  Then your cam will rotate around that spot when you use Alt + arrow keys, and you can zoom in and out with your mouse wheel.  All it takes is practice.
