I don't have the "Me-Preferences-General" Menu. Can't find it. How do I find it if it is not there?

I need to change my maturity rating. It told me to do it in the Me menu. I do not have this menu in my viewer. Please help!

Me is in the upper left corner at the top of your screen, right where you would expect to see the File menu in any other program in the world.  (In other SL viewers, it's sometimes called Avatar or File, instead of Me).  Preferences is the first menu choice in the Me menu, and General is the first tab in the Preferences menu.

You can get to Preferences directly without even touchjing Me, too.  Just type CTRL + P.

First thing you need to go is get out of "basic" mode.  At the bottom of the log in screen near the log in button there is a block that is titled "Mode".  Change that to "advanced", close the log in screen and relaunch the viewer.  Then your "Me" menu will be where Rolig discribed.

 

That is, of course, if you are using the Official SL viewer 2.xx or 3.xx.  An attempt by LL to make things simple that does nothing but complicate things.

Do you have to have the most recent version of SL to get this menu??

No. The Me menu has been in the upper menu bar since V3 was introduced over a year ago. Preferences has always been right where it is, even before Linden Lab changed the name of the File menu to Me. You can also always open Preferences with CTRL + P.
