Jacki Silverfall
Here is a site that has free fonts. Maye you can find a nice one here. http://www.dafont.com/ Also, TTfont has one called invitation or something like that, its a good one for engraving. ETA Call a engraver in your town and ask which is popular for rings then try to find the font online.
Void Singer
if you want it readable in SL, then medium weight sans serif block fonts are probably your best bet. with a little drop shadow for gold, or maybe a little blur for antiqued silver. Ishtara Rothschild
I recommend the emboss filter to simulate an engraved font. Duplicate the layer with the embossed text and experiment with different layer settings to create a realistic look. In this example, I've set the text layer to 30% transparency, then duplicated it and changed the second layer to "color dodge" at 60% transparency: I think this would make a nice inscription for a wedding ring The font is Zapf Chancery btw. It's a great compromise between a calligraphy font and an easily readable serif type. PS: Feel free to use the silver texture if you like it:
amarock Amat
aww's ty ... one of my major issues with using fonts at this moment, is that I use sculpite rings, and the textures I am using, tend to repeate so its kinda meh lol. Ishtara Rothschild
You can always modify the repeats per face in the texture tab of the edit window
amarock Amat
yeah still messing with that, in overlapping designs that work's but for actual ring wording texture, that gets a lil harder as it would overstretch the words, so still messing with that. I tend to use sculpts not prims so my textures are specific. Thank you so much for your help
WADE1 Jya
looks like you're off to a good start amarock! you could always make yourself a little mesh ring (for future use after mesh has seen wide adoption), then it'll be much easier to wrap your textures with pixel-perfect fit everytime & no seams, warping or worry with repeats.
