Did you try to adjust the Graphic Settings in Prefs ? You might want to lower them 1st and then rise them up again until you are satisfied with the performance.

In general notebook computers are less powerful than desktop computers, so your notebook might be on the absolute edge to be able to run SL.

My notebook is slow too, so basically my SL is very laggy and jerky.

If you are running SL on a netbook (as opposed to a notebook), you are lucky to even get in SL.  And once in you'll probably crash pretty soon afterward.  Netbooks are not designed for 3d graphics......they just don't have the power nor the graphics capabilities.  Many smart phones are more powerful and have better graphics.

I agree reduce your graphics setting till it improves. if it does improve. It is best to run SL on a wired not wireless system, btw.

Slow is the best you can hope for on a netbook.  Try running Rainbow Viewer, which runs better on low-end systems.
