Rhys Goode
Is there a way to surpress the swirling particles that result when a scripted object speaks into local chat? I know about using the debug setting effectScriptChatParticles to supress them in my own viewer, is there some way to turn it off for everyone? Rolig Loon
No. SL automatically generates swirlies whenever a scripted object speaks (llSay, llWhisper, llShout, llRegionSay, llRegionSayTo, andllOwnerSay all do that). They are a client-side effect, so any debug switch you apply will only affect what YOU see. There are only two ways to beat it: (1) Don't speak (2) Use llInstantMessage. Void Singer
note that only the person that can hear it see's the chat swirl, others do not.
