why do I have to pay without having a land

I bought 16.384 sqm land on 12/30/2010 and Linden Lab debited my credit card USD.75 for this as a mainland use fee on same date (12/30/2010) So this means land use tier paid in advence.

I sold this 16.384 sqm land on 07/16/2011..  On 07/29/2011  Linden lab debited my account again USD.75.. Why do I have

to pay this land use fee more? I have no land since 07/16/2011..

You would have to ask LL about how they calculated the 12/30/2010 charge, but  according to http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Billing/ta-p/700037#Section_.6, "On the mainland, billing is based on peak usage for the prior 30 days" rather than in advance.

Your tier date is fixed, its the same date each month regardless of when you buy or sell land. You must have unfortunately bought your land the day before or on your tier date. It is obviously better to buy land the day after and sell it the day before your tier date.
