any SL/RL skaters?

I like to skate at some SL skateparks but they are always abandoned and lonely (unlike RL)

Skating in SL?  Hell yeah!   If you're talking about roller skating you should check out SLRDA  (second Life Roller Derby Association). Its the toughest chicks on skates that look good doing it.  there are many teams and currently an Euro team is also forming. We're always looking for a few good women.

Is it okay to skate on public roads?  or is this

something that nearby owners have a problem with.

Back in the day I used to skate, both with a skateboard and rollerskates, had quite a blast, and I have gone to a few skateparks in SL, but never really did anything other than build custom skateboards for people, which is something I should start getting back into!

But, for the past year or so, I've not touched my skateboard at all, it's just been sitting there collecting dust. :matte-motes-not-even:

I just built a new Skate Park... it's a Skateboard/Simboard Park and it's  also the largest one in SL.  With extremely smooth ramps, places to grind and big air.  Just search SKATE PARKS and go to....  WHAT? SURF & SIMBOARD PARK.   :matte-motes-big-grin:

Hello! I skate in real life, since I have 14 years, now I have 25 and I'm giving it to the table. The fact that in SL I see very complicated, there's always too much lag, so I SL I dedicate myself to something else ... Virtual, I prefer to play on playstation3 SKATE3.
