Question

I am not getting any message......the crash logger comes up and thats it.

I tried what you said LoveAngel....& nothing helps :(  Should have just kept what I had as nothing was wrong with it...but I listened to others "you should try this viewer or that viewer".....SIGH ...NEVER again!

Knowl: it has detecting hardware....initializing VFS and then the crash log comes up

Hello Jazmine and welcome to SL Forums. We  can't help if we don't know exactly the error message you get and you can't log in. You can edit your post (Options --> Edit) adding more details.

Your post has not text. If you use Internet Explorer 8 or 9 you need to change the combatibility clicking the icon with the page at the right of your address bar, to be able to use this forum without problems.

Clear your cache manually and see if that helps:

(XP) - C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME) - Application Data \ SecondLife and
C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME)\ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Second Life

(Vista) and (Win 7) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife and
C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Secondlife

Log out and delete everything in those folders and restart first your computer and after the program. Usually the folder Appdata is a hidden folder. (Windows Tools \ Folder Options \ View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders)

Have in your mind that if you clear your cache manually you will lose all your private conversations which are saved in your computer. To avoid it copy the folder with your username in the folder Secondlife in another position in your hard disk.

If you have more that 1 viewers installed in your computer, you must to do it for all following the same paths in your hard disk.

For example C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ PhoenixViewer

After that try to log in a different regions. Protected regions like Smith, Lime or Pooley are recommended. If the problem remains, download again the previous edition of Viewer 2 2.6.9 here.

You can find also all the Third Party Viewers here.

Good luck.

You enter you name and password and hit the Enter key;  then what happens? Do you see anything? initializing, anything?

V2 gave me problems also, number one is it auto detected my Graphics card and cranked up all my settings which made me lag massively at login because I live next to a bunch of stuff. Then it bombarded me with "newcomer" messages.

Did you change your Login Location? Somewhere like Smith region.

Check your firewall settings.
