Hi, we’re looking to hire writers for long-term writing positions. Basic writing experience is needed. And someone who is punctual is preferred as you’ll be working with deadlines.

As a writer, you’ll get to work with Hamilton in publishing books within the realm of SL. You’ll have the potential to grow a fan base who falls in love with your writing and you’ll receive royalties.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic writing experience w/ Writing Sample

  • Punctuality

  • Openness to constructive criticism ( In the future, you may work with editors who might ask you to change things about your work, if this bothers you this position may not be for you.)

  • Open to working with a team in PM tools like Trello

  • Discord

Genres We’re Currently Looking For:

  • Romance

  • Young Adult

  • Thriller

  • Horror

  • Children’s

  • Mystery

  • Erotica

  • Fantasy

  • Poetry

At the moment we are not looking for genres outside of these.

You can find applications in-world at the front desk. When finished, drop them into the black mail slot on the wall and we’ll get back to you within 48hrs.

Hi Spider, writers will receive royalties. Our system is similar to real book royalties. You'll earn a percentage of every book sold. Hope that answered your question :)

Also wanted to edit to add a link to our web application as well:

Hi there!

I'm curious about Hamilton House and how it works. Before I apply, I'd love to learn more about its current offerings, the operations behind running a publishing company in SL, and the breakdown of funds around every publication.

Let's chat! Feel free to IM me and let me know when you're available. Hope to talk with you soon!

After reading your application/info notecard, I get the impression you are similar to a self publisher in real life. Is this correct?

Hi Annabell, we actually offer both traditional publishing and self-publishing options.

Hi! I'm curious about this opportunity as well, what kind of time commitment or word commitment are you looking for? Is this a certain amount of words a week or something else? How big are the books? How do the books get published and marketed in world? Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi, we're currently on pause right now as we rework some things. But I'll be happy to answer your questions. Generally, there are no weekly word commitments. If you choose to be an independent author, the only time commitments are the ones you set for yourself. As an Hamilton Author, there are overall deadlines but you choose how you plan to meet those. Books vary in size, from short story length to full novel. Last, we use an in-world publishing tool for books, so books will only exist in the world. Hope that helps?
