A friend helped me buy the free Basic Bento Mocap. He said sometimes my old avatar did not show up well for others. To my avatar looks the same, but the HUD has some fun settings. Question, if I buy for example, Absolute Dandy's Bento AO, does that change my avatar appearance? If not, am I just purchasing more animations? Trying to keeps up, thanks!!

An  AO does not change your appearance, only the animations your avatar performs.

I'm not sure why your friend recommended a new AO to solve baking problems; as far as I know, that's not going to be a useful fix.
