I'm stuck at Loading World.

I created my account, downloaded the app, and signed in. After that, the app is stuck at Loading World. How long is this process supposed to take?

Milliseconds. Without any other information (and assuming that you computer at least meets the minimum standards), the first steps to try are:

1. Unplug both your modem and your router from the power for a minute or two.  Then plug them back in and restart everything.

2. Avoid using wifi to connect to the Internet if you can.

If those don't help, we'll really need more information about your system.
