Question

My wife is an avid user of SL and has just bought some land and is developing it.  Yesterday her account was suspended.  She rang support but was just read a message confirming suspension and saying she would be advised - no reason given.  Since she can no longer log on she has nowhere to go.  How can you find out why an account was suspended and how can you expedite resolution?

It depends on exactly what state the account is in. Your wife should have received an email explaining her options.

If the account is suspended or banned, the appeals process is to go to https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ and without logging in, submit the ticket to reactivate an account.

If the account is on administritive hold, then it means LL is checking something and it is unlikely that you will get any information out of them until they are done checking. The most they usually say is something vague like "its a security issue". If your wife has bought or sold L$ anywhere other than the approved exchanges, then that is a very common way to get an account put on hold, but other than that we wouldn`t have a clue what the reason is. The length of time it takes to sort out varies too, a month is not unusual.
