Modern hardware doesn't care about that insignificant settings (that includes ALM). That makes no difference. Shadows, draw distance and impostors. That's the only settings with a noticeable impact.

There are places where ALM will make a huge difference, even on modern hardware. I doubt it'll make much difference at shopping events, but at more scenic locations, it can make a significant difference. On older hardware, it's night and day.
