lost body part

hi can anyone help me with something I tried on some shorts and its removed my body its only showing me my arms legs and head and when I go too the body hud too try had back on the body it still doesn't work

Hi Dann!

Most likely, you took off the shorts, and are still wearing the "alpha mask" layer that makes your body under the shorts invisible, so it doesn't poke through.  Go to your Inventory (CTRL+I) and open the folder "Current Outfit".  Look for an item that has the symbol of a shirt with a grid pattern on it.  Right click that and select Take Off.

If you are wearing a mesh body, it's a little different.  In this case, you will have on an alpha mask that hides your entire "regular", or Classic body, so that only the mesh body is visible.  Mesh bodies often come with a HUD that allows you to select which parts of the body (under clothes) will be invisible.  Use this HUD to fix the invisible areas.

If all of this is just too confusing, try opening the Avatars window (the button that has a symbol of two people on it).  Select any of the starter avatars in that gallery to put on a whole new appearance.
