inventory system is currently unavailable

I was just logged out of secondlife. I gave it a few minutes to fully log me out before trying to relog. I got a message saying "The Inventory System is Unavailable" I tried a few minutes later and got message saying " Could Not Connect To Sim". So which is it, unavailable invetory or not able to connect to sim?? And Why???

Perhaps it is both.

It could be some connection issue along the way to LL's servers. I've had this happening myself, and it has sorted itself out. Try waiting a little while before trying again.

Great! Inventory unavailable is very rare, as far as I know. The times I've seen it myself, and heard about it, it has solved itself.

The inventory login error happens when LL is doing maintainance on the inventory server and it usually only lasts for an hour or less. It is always announced on the Grid status report and as you can see here http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ that is exactly what happened for an hour today.

Its always useful to keep a copy of that link or https://twitter.com/#!/SLGridStatus so that you can check them if you ever get unusual login errors.
