Usually you get employed for RL skills.

Here are some exampless of RL skills that can get you a job are:

DJ-ing (not for everyone because if done right it is including all the legal heckmeck of a public broadcast license)

Social skills (event host, store CSR, entertainer)

Artist (canvas artist, texture artist, 3D-artist, live performer, storytellers etc,... for live musicians similar rules to DJs might apply)

Programming (Scripter)

 

Also be aware that many stores do not pay you in Lindens but products, especially for the less skilled social jobs. The more RL work involved the more your chances of getting payed in money, but basically getting a job is not as much fun as you might think it is.
