Second life voice - Sometimes my voice won't be recognised

Question

I've had this issue for as long as I can remember, across different PC's and different audio equipment and also different ISP's

I often leave my voice 'open' and sometimes when I talk, the green bars above my voice dot just won't move and sometimes when I'm mid sentence, my green bars will just stop moving all together and I will break up for other people

I've got a pretty good setup and I have no mic issues in any other applications. My internet connections is 300MBPS on Virgin media UK

I have tried different viewers and different bandwidth levels and nothing seems to be able to fix it

Has anyone else had this issue

Typing always works.

I'm not being facetious, voice has always been somewhat flaky.  Also, even if you insist on using voice, don't leave your mic open all the time.  Nobody wants to hear your kids yelling, the dog barking, you munching your snack, etc.  Key your mic to speak, turn it off when you're not.

Voice is provided by a third-party service, Vivox. So, you are making multiple connections when using voice. That connection point is often attacked by griefers. Various other things happen that take voice down.

The Lab consistently works on voice. Oz Linden is currently working on an update from Vivox. The RC viewer for that update isn't out yet (7/2).
