Question regarding Open Space region

Hello folks! 

 

I am an estate owner and I'm looking to purchase a few open spaces for scenery purposes. I am wanting to get some advice from someone who owns or has been on an openspace how the performance is (first hand, not based on wiki articles) and what the real prim use potential is. Trying to gauge Homestead vs Openspace benefits and what is best for my needs.

I am wondering about these very same issues, now that I see the Lindens' announcement today:

 

 

If I read it correctly, they're saying OpenSpaces will no longer be for sale after June 30th!

That means you have 10 more days to decide whether to buy them now.

And it seems you'd have to buy them at the regular price and set-up fee they are now ($75 and $150) but

then after July 1 pay only $60 in tier.

But maybe the no-set up fee offer is good right away?

These islands only have 1000 prims. They aren't really meant to put anything on. So would they serve as rentals?

You'd have to charge $16000 just to break even, and only 1000 prims.
