STOP GROUP MESSAGES

I like my group, but some of them I don't want to recieve group chats and message popups.  So, with the INFO options, I unchecked the boxes to stop these actions from happening from those particular group, but annoyingly I am still getting  them.  It's as though those options means nothing.  Why are the options there if they don't work!!! I found he only thing that works is if i LEAVE the group to stop those chats and messages.  Such an extreme measure for a fix which I did not want to result to.  Is there any other option?

What viewer are you using?

In viewer 2, unticking Receive Group Notices in the Group window should stop those and works for me.

Unticking Me > Preferences > Chat > Enable Incoming Chat Popups should stop those annoying group chat windows opening.

Phoenix. Before I upgraded to the latest version (Friday), I thought that would solve the problem, but it didn't.

Hi Vha2the Voom,

If you go to preferences, Phoenix tab, chat tab & check the boxes for the 2 things called:

Disable ALL group chats

Notify me when group chat is muted

You will not get any group chat boxes opening and spamming you automatically, instead what happens is that when someone starts a group chat in one of your groups you get a private message in local chat like:

[Muting group chat: Phoenix Viewer Support]

So if you want to know whats going on you can open the group chat yourself or just ignore it.

yvw...I have mine set like that and I haven`t missed anything important but its been really nice not having group chats opening every few minutes...good luck hope it works for you
