I'm trying to do a really basic mesh Shirt with a Logo (simple texture).
I made the shirt in MD5, then exported it as obj to blender. But i have this problem:

if i export the shirt without bind it to the armature i can see the texture, but i can not check the "skin weight" box  on SL when i upload it

Now when i bind it to the armature i can can check the "skin weight" box but i can't see the texture

As you can see I am really new at this, i hope someone can help me.
thank you!

That's a limitation of the importer. Importing textures along with rigged mesh doesn't work. Just upload the texture separately, or try Local Textures first to check the mesh in-world.

Hmm last time I tested this it worked, though you have to faff a bit.
This was a long time ago though so I need to test if behaviour has changed with the recent version of the importer.

Gaia filed a bug about this & I gave my workaround in the comments.

Just gave it a try with Second Life 5.0.9.329906 (Pre). As soon as I load a mesh with skinning data, the texture preview doesn't work, no matter if Skin weights is ticked or not. Loading the same mesh without skinning data, the texture preview works just fine. (Exported from 3ds Max)
