Why my computer says that " DNS could not resolve the host name".

That error is usually related to a dodgy connection somewhere. If it happens to a lot of people at the same time, we usually get a grid report saying SL is having an issue, if its just random people it more likely your own connection.

It is possible to be connected to the internet and have everything working & the connection still not be stable enough to connect to SL.

Try restarting your computer & router, leaving the router switched off for a few seconds.

Clear your DNS cache (you can Google how to do this if you do not know)

Phone your ISP to see if they are currently having any issues.
