How can I leave an avatar inworld -- working?

I'd like to leave an avatar at my reception desk with an animation as if she is at the computer, or answering phones, etc.  How can I achieve this?  I thought of using a dummy bot but they do not have a good appearance to me.  I've been to sims (like Angel Rock) where there are models walking around. Sometimes they are greeters.  How can I do this?  Thanks.

those are just avatars as you, but controlled by scripts for their movement

make a alt, buy/rent bot software and you can do the same

You will have to keep the machine where the bot is on, running 24/7
