Limit buy is like a rl money exchange.

What you want to buy at a certain conversion, let's say 271/1 usd, you have to wait till somebody else wants to sell you for that rate.

If your rate is far from the current market, you most likely never will get your Lindens and the reserved  money from your payment source will be kept by LL till you cancel.

For example a rate of 280/1 will be a very very long wait... if ever...

If you want you Lindens now, never do  limit buy, but always a marketbuy.

When your rate is 271 there's over 40 million waiting... that will also take some time.
