Is there a way to offer premium membership to a friend or partner?

I was wondering, if for example i wanted to have my partner become a premium member if i can gift him the membership kind of like we gift people clothes, or is it only the person who owns the acount that can upgrade to premium membership. They live in a diferent country and its cheaper here to buy it.

You could send your friend the money by PayPal or mail him a check.  Linden Lab has no way of knowing how the money gets into a PayPal account.  You can't send the money to Linden Pab, though.  The bills have to be paid by the account holder.
