Tech Robonaught
Did the physics settings change overnight? I create trailers, and vehicles, that can be towed behind other vehicles physically. Tonight everything was so heavy you couldnt move it. Adjusting the physics to what would have been the weight and density of a blown condom seemd to fix it. Whats going on? People have used my system to make hundreds of trailers and towable vehicles which will all now have to be scripted and rewritten.... a heads up or a "what do you thnk we should do" would have been NICE instead of breaking stuff, again. Looking at you Linden Labs.
Nalates Urriah
AFAIK there are no changes to Havok, the physics engine. But, they did upgrade the grid with a new server package. See DEPLOYS and follow on to the release notes. There isn't much information. But, it is the only change I know of. There are some rumblings in the forum and groups that others have run into problems. I suggest you file a JIRA bug report. Provide all the information you can. Have others you know of that have run into the same problem add to your JIRA.
Tech Robonaught
Yeah I followed that useless trai last night. No useful information was found.... Frankly I dont think its somethng they have plans on fixing .... because it doesnt affect the other 99% of the grid ... lol I did file a Bug Report on it so we'll see. Tech Robonaught
Simon Linden added a comment - 06/Jul/16 3:53 PM There was no change that I know of to physics or any bug fixes around that area that might have affected your trailers. Do you have any more info about what is different? What is the new bad behavior? What did you do to fix it? Tech Robonaught added a comment - 06/Jul/16 4:34 PM Is easy to explain, stuff got heavier after July 5th. Here's an example ... with my trailer system as is, typical physics settings on a trailer were 2.000 Gravity, 0.600 Friction, 800.00 Density, 0.000 Restitution. Hooking to a trailer with those settings I could pull it around all day long. As of last evening, I couldn't. I had to modify the settings to ... 0.500 Gravity, 0.100 Friction, 10.00 Density, 0.000 Restitution, just to move it. It is still heavier than it was the 5th, but at least i can move it. Something changed, in the engine, or in the physics settings. They're acting like Open Sim physics.
Raznikk
Having the opposite effect on aircraft. Some aircraft that used to land fine, now need to drop to around 10%-30% to even start dropping. Horizontal speed is ridiculously slow, so almost at a stand still when you finally do touch down.
Callum Meriman
I've noticed some very strange behaviour with old prim builds, floating 6 feet above stairs that hug walls - in prim, not in convex hull. Something /is/ off with Havok.
