Avatar and signing out

What happens to your avatar when you close second life?

Does it disappear, or is it still visible to others online?

I leave mine seated where I want to "wake up" when I reopen the program. I started to wonder about it because one place I visit has this guy just standing there, day after day.

Anyway, I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, so I thought I'd ask.

It disappears in a little cloud of stars - pretty much looks the same as when someone TP`s away

If you set your login to relog at your last location you will reappear back where you vanished from, some people prefer to alsways login to their home location.

The person you see standing there 24/7 either never switches off his computer or his avatar has been ghosted in a bad logout or crash & he can`t log back in until it is cleared....It will disppear next time the sim is restarted.

Thanks! I couldn't find my thread and started a new one, but all is well. I didn't want anyone griefing my avatar while I was away.
