i copied my 1st Act Werewolf purchase into my inventory but how do i apply it? (new to SL)

Subject says it all really. I  boutght the model. dragged it from my "recieved items" to my "My Inventory" folder. Now its there with that red block icon [A1]  next to it. But when i double click to apply it, its just a box with the marketplace thumbnail on it over my current avatar. Help? this thing had a lot of cool options and stuff i saw on youtube so clearly im doing something wrong.
