New to Second Life and I have not been able to login, I keep getting the same error.

I keep getting the error saying that I can not log in but my internet is fine.  I have tried for two days on two different computers.

How far does it get in the login process? - You can tell this from the words above the loading bar.

What is the exact wording of the error message?

Are you using 'Resident' as a last name when you enter your credentials to the viewer:

i.e., brittanywatters resident

Only if you are using a older style viewer that has 2 boxes for your name, you would put Resident in the second box. If your viewer only has one box for name just use BrittanyWatters.

Ahh... If you are using a Windows PC, login to the SL website using Internet Explorer - You only need to do this once, so that it picks up the correct certificates.

If this doesn`t fix it or you usually use IE anyway, check your firewall settings to make sure SL is not being blocked. If you use PeerGuardian, diasable it.
