You problem may be a connection issue. Having a good general Internet Connection does not mean you have a good conection to the Second Life servers. So, test your connection to the SL servers. See: http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/ 

J0hncrew could be right. It may be a transient problem with the SL servers or network. Usually if that is the case, we have far more people posting in the forum asking about login problems. So, I think this is more likely something in your specific connection path.

When posting technical questions include the information from the viewer's HELP->About... Saves us guessing blindly and you trying all our off point guesses.
