Missing inventory items ho do I find

There are lots of possibilties.  My favorite dumb mistake is to drag an item with my mouse and let go of it just a wee bit too soon, so it falls into the wrong folder.  I actually do that a lot.  Fortunately, your inventory has a Recent tab.  If you click the little gear icon in its lower left corner and select Show Filters, you can set a window of time and look for only those items that you added to inventory during that period.  I find a lot of misfiled things that way.  If you remember the item's name or even a part of it, you can also just type it in the Search field to locate it.

Have you tried Search?  The top of your inventory has a "Search" feature if you remember the name of it.
