Is the email address i have on my account kept private?

If someone follows me, or looks me up can they see my email address or is that kept private on my account?

Quick Answer: Your personal information is completely safe.

Longer Answer: You control what information about you is made public on your SL Account Profile. Mind you, if you provide information to a FaceBook page or other external social service all bets are off.

Also, remember that all anyone needs to do to email you, is to IM you in-World, If you have checked the Send IMs to your email address option you will receive it. But not to worry, if you reply no one will see the email address you used to reply from. The SL servers create a unique and temporary message email and identifier to send the emailed IMs to your personal email address. When you reply, you send to this same email address and the SL Servers forward the IM text only to the person that IM'd you.
