I was given a furniture that has a virus I think

I was given a set of shelves and I rezzed it in my room.  When I try to move it or delete it or touch it in any way it crashes me.

Can anyone help?

There is no such thing as a "virus" in SL.  It sounds like you are overloading your graphics card.  Try opening Preferences >>> Graphics  >>> General and disabling Basic Shaders temporarily.  That might help.  If you have an AMD/ATI graphics card, you might also need to update your Catalyst drivers.
