Can too many items in inventory  create  lag o any kind of problems to the avatar?

Some people think so, but mine is over 60K and my alt has less than 1K and I don`t notice a difference between them.

There is also a theory that certain things in your inventory can cause lag - Like having an excessive number of gestures active.

Usually not. The only thing that may take some time and cause a tiny bit of lag lag is when you clear your inventory cache and relog. Afterwards your inventory needs some time to reload. The more items, the longer it takes.

since your inventory is downloaded each time you log in, it can flood some peoples bandwidth and make other things (like the world around them) take longer to download. having a larger cache size seems to help with this a little.

there are some things that can timeout while waiting for your inventory to load that may still using some resources that might not be used otherwise, but I'd be suprised if most users could detect this.

I have over 600.000 Items in my inventory and have no problem.

The only problem ig et is when i clear the cache then i need to wait longer then someone with 10.000 Items inside and of course the search is more complicated at all.

it can make problem, if your connection is weak.

Someone i know usually has problems to get her full inventory of 45K Items loaded.

My inventory is around 150,000 items on my main account, and under 10,000 on another.  I have noticed a HUGE problem in V3 and also Kirsten's viewer with my main account.  Every time I even *touch* the inventory window, the viewer goes unresponsive for 10-20 seconds.  It's too painful to even use it.  I tested the same viewers with my newbie account and everything runs smoothly.  So I'd say in some situations, yes, a big inventory can cause frequent and unbearable hangs, which some people might refer to as "lag".

The problem is solved in the next beta viewer, at least for the official viewer. Then it make no sence how many items you have in the inventory
