If I start over will I lose my Linden dollars?

If you create another avatar, your current avatar can send it all the $L's in it's account.  It can also send to the new one any item that is transfer. 

If your viewer isn't working then try doing a clean reinstall of it.  Here is how to do that:

If it is the viewer at fault that should fix it.

If you are "stuck," then creating another account won't fix the problem.

Try reinstalling the viewer, rebooting your router, or logging in to a different region.  Try putting on a different avatar from the Library/Clothing folder.
