Hi there. I just joined Second Life and wanted to check it out.....BUT, it seems that my computer doesn't wan't to cooperate with me.

Certain people's avatars appear to be missing clothing, or certain body parts, and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Example screenshot of what I mean:

I am unsure if this 'glitch' in avatars is because i'm on a wireless laptop, or if my computer just can't handle the game? (I can play world of warcraft on it perfectly fine, though).

Also I have noticed if I teleport to destinations, it can take a very long time for the surroundings to load, sometimes not loading at all and they just appear as a gray texture.

Thanks for your assistance!

(I have googled solutions for this and tried a few different things suggested, but am having no luck and don't know what I should attempt next).

If it is just rigged (worn) mesh that is invisible and you have AMD graphics and you are using the latest 14.12 Omega catalyst driver, see https://modemworld.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/latest-amd-catalyst14-12-drivers-continue-sl-rigged-mesh-woes/

This bug is fixed with the 15.3 catalyst beta drivers: https://modemworld.wordpress.com/2015/03/21/amds-catalyst-15-3-beta-driver-offers-sl-mesh-fix/

Hi there :)

Yes I had found that blog post earlier today when googling 'second life' and my graphics card (AMD). I had attempted to use the workaround mentioned on that blog / in the comment section, but didn't notice a change.

I'll try downloading that patch for AMD and see if that changes anything!

Cheers.

I tried to fix that for ages, gave up and went on the Firestorm viewer, that doesn't have this problem.

I have the same problem on Firestorm, so change viewer seems not be the solution. I see my clothes but others don't see. (pretty embarassing situations)
