Question

So tonight my computer said a Second Life File had a virus. I clicked "quarantine" and here is where my troubles start. I tried to get back into Second Life and my computer said a file, SSLEAY32.dll was no longer on my computer...error windows are all I get. I tried download ing your viewer again and my computer refuses to download like 12 different files including the SSLEAY32.dll

What can I do? I tried the Knowledge Base first for similar instances and I found advice to totally uninstall and reinstall and I TRIED it and now there is NO second life at all on my computer and I'm not able to RE download the viewer because my computer won't LET me...won't "read" the files.

I'm not new at Second Life, but I am NOT computer savvy. My computer is also NOT THAT OLD. Runs Windows 7. Please help! What is the matter? Thanks!

Follow KarenMichelle's advice.  By telling your antivirus to quarantine the file, you broke your viewer installation, and since your AV software is now convinced that file is dangerous, it won't let it back onto your machine.

For future reference, Second Life viewers seldom, if ever, have infected files in them.  If your AV suspects one, do a lot of further research before telling it to take quarantine steps.  It's much more likely that you have a "false positive."
