Making Vendors with MySql?

Question

So I've been doing some various experimenting and have recently become aquanted with MySql and how it can use database storage and all. I'm the owner of the store ~Kitty Tats~ and I normally use the CasperVend vendors for my products as they are very reliable. But, just to experiment, I would like to possibly try to make my own vendor, maybe in a similar way CasperVend Vendors work. Is there a way to store my prodects into a MySql Database Server, or some similar way using MySql? If so, How would I create a vender scripted to communicate with said database? I realize this is probably going well outside my ability as a novice scripter, but anything is worth a try. If there is a forum/answers/knowledge base topic already created for this that explains how I can do this, please send the link so I can go to there. If not, either a tutorial or your own knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

You're right.  That's not a novice scripter challenge.  Still, it's worth aiming for.  You'll need to develop several skills in addition to MySql. You'll need to be able to communicate between an external server and an LSL script in world, and you'll need to be able to write that LSL script.  You'll have to keep one eye on data security too.

I'd suggest breaking it down into modular challenges, a bit at a time.  You'll find a helpful community of scripters in the LSL Scripting forum, ready to lend a hand when you can phrase specific, tight questions. Look at the way Wandering Soulstar has been asking for guidance with llHTTPRequest statements this past week, for example. You should also do a bit of digging in the forum archives for relevant threads, because the various pieces of your puzzle do keep coming up in one way or another.
