why is it difficult to move in crowded regions?

Can hardly move around in crowded places. What could be the problem?

In a crowded place where avatars are dressed in hundreds of things with hundreds of textures plus all the things on the sim such as buildings, furnishings and landscaping plus scripts and animations there is a lot to download to your viewer so you can see them. 

If your internet connection and/or computer can't handle all this data at high speeds, you experience lag which makes it difficult to move around.  People that are lucky enough to have powerful computers and high end graphics cards plus the fastest internet connection possible probably experience very little to no lag.

Turning your draw distance down and the quality of your graphics helps.  If you normally run you graphics as high, for instance, turn to down to mid range.
