i dont fully understand this W-8BEN thing for non us citizens

you won't have to pay US taxes. W-8BEN is a form that shows you are not Murrican, and so should not have taxes withheld.

they are also collecting these forms because Murrica has a paranoid government. It wants companies to show they know who their customers are, and are not running some kind of money laundering ring.

The income was earned in the US as the servers are all there, so depending on the tax treaty your country has with the US you may owe nothing in US taxes. You will need to contact your countries taxing authority for more details.   However by law, you still have to file that form.

The point of the W-8BEN is just to establish who and where you are. As long as you're covered by a tax treaty, you don't owe money to the U.S.

Thanks everyone, my country is in that list of countries that have a tax treaty, im going to get someone who understands this stuff to look into the pdf files just in case.
