Local and Im chat in Mouseview

You can hold down Alt to free the mouse pointer while in mouselook, and click local text as it appears into view. This will give you Local Chat. If you're using CHUI then it will give you IM as well.

It's not smooth or easy, and certain operations will kill these windows, meaning you have to start over. Few Third Party Viewers improve this.

Hey guys:

 

I have the lastest version of the SL Viewer.   Does anyone know if there is a way to see local chat or im's while inside mouseview ?

Besides Freya's correct and detailed answer, you can always see local chat in Mouselook.  It appears line by line at the bottom of your screen, and fades out after a few seconds.  You can alter the fade time in Preferences.  You can SEND local chat by hitting Enter, typing your text, then hitting Enter again to send.
