OS X 10.9 Mavericks is known to break media and music streams in the current release of Firestorm. See Firestorm JIRA FIRE-10630.  The current Firestorm Beta version apparently has a fix that will be incorporated in the next full release.

You can work around this in the meantime, by playing the music stream in an external browser or in iTunes. The streams should also work fine in Linden Lab's current V3 release if you have already updated and need the streaming option for clubs, dances, or djing.

Oh! So it's not streaming media at all, but Voice? Voice has always been a flaky service at best, unfortunately. There are many ways that it can fail. Rather than try to list them all here, I suggest looking at http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_voice , where you'll find a good overview. Look particularly closely at the possibility that it's a DNS issue, since that's often a problem for Mac owners.
