how to delete a forum post?

i am trying to delete an old post. can someone please tel me how if i is possible. thank you.

Once someone has answered to your post, you cannot delete it anymore. This is only possible if there was no reply. In this case, use "options" > "delete".

Once you have created a thread in a public forum, and someone has responded, it is no longer your thread.  It belongs to the forum community.  Everyone benefits from the exchange of ideas and learns from how others behave and respond.  I think anyone who has posted more than a few times in a forum has probably said something that s/he regretted later, or something that invited hurtful reactions.  I certainly have. We learn and we grow, and with luck so do other people who watch from the sidelines.
