any one know how you can see what channel an item uses

I wish to know how to see what chat channel and item/object uses. can any one tell me, i use a firestorm veiwer.

You can't tell.  Most responsible scripters will assign a random channel number, anywhere between -1 and −2,147,483,648 .  Trying to guess the right one would be virtually impossible.  Your only chance would be if the scripter was either inexperienced or deliberately set a specific channel that s/he told you to use.  You will find some devices in Marketplace that claim to be able to deduce an object's channel, but those devices are all mostly looping through the obvious ones that amateurs might use ( 1, 10, 12345, ... ) or that are used by well-known commercial products.

That Firestorm feature is lovely, BTW.  If you are a scripter, it is very handy to be able to set your own chat window to communicate on a channel other than PUBLIC_CHAT.  It makes testing some scripts much easier.
