Question

So first, SL crashed and I tried task manager to close it but it wouldn't. So I went to log off then when I clicked on SL Viewer it popped up with a message: Second Life is already running. Check your task bar for a minimized copy of the program. But it wasn't even running in the first place? Please help ASAP!

Specs:

Windows 7

Dell Inspiron 1545

Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU   T4500 @ 2.30GHz  2.30 GHz

3.00GB

64-bit OS

Try opening the Task Manager and looking at the Second Tab ("Processes").

Click the title bar of the First Column ("Image Name") to arrange them alphabetically and locate SecondLife.exe *32

Right click it it and choose End Process Tree  from the context menu.  When the warning box appears, confirm you want to end the process.  That should do it.

Unique,

That laptop/notebook is a really low-end PC especially in the graphics area.  It has a completely unacceptable on-board graphics subsystem not suitable for SecondLife. It is meant to be used as a School & Business PC with low graphics needs. It will play a video well but that is about it. Why Dell is selling this [$650 List Price] I have no idea about, since it has other laptops in the same price range with much better on-board graphics.
